MARYLAND (Tuesday, 3/6):
No Dragons On My Quilt (9:30am OR 1:30pm, Meadowside Nature Center. Read a story and make paper quilts you can take home. Register online, $5, ages 3 to 6.)

Discover Nature "Early Bugs & Buds" (10 to 11am, Locust Grove Nature Center. Trees and wildflowers are already blooming and that means their insect partners are out and about. Learn about them and hike. Register online, $5, ages 3 to 6.)

Flying Squirrels (5:45 to 6:30pm, Brookside Nature Center. Catch a glimpse of these nighttime gliders and find out how they live. No RR, free, all ages.)

Children's Book Fair (9:30am to 5pm, Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington, Rockville. 19th Annual Children's Book Fair featuring an outstanding selection of Judaic titles, books by award-winning authors and illustrators, fiction and nonfiction, and the newest releases. Through 3/8.)

Family Hike (Claude Moore Park, Sterling. Come enjoy a kid friendly circuit hike in this beautiful park, hiking about 2 ½ miles. Weather permitting, picnic along the way, next to a pond. National Geographic MAPS: Tools for Adventure (9am to 5pm, National Geographic Museum at Explorers Hall. This kid-friendly exhibit engages the entire family by demonstrating the role maps play in daily life and by offering collaborative, hands-on activities that help children map their own adventures. Exhibit runs through 7/29/07.)

Open Play at Jonah's Treehouse (11:45am to 1:15pm. Enjoy open playtime indoors with your child! $7/hour for enrolled children, $15/hour for non-enrolled children.)
